Paper Coffee Cup!

Happy Sunday!  Hope you're all having a fun day :)  It's beautiful here ... I think ... have barely poked my nose out the door today.  I had great intentions of getting lots done but before that happened I had to take the dog for his walk.  I figured today I better take some allergy pills since the poplar fluff makes it look like it's snowing outside and I'm getting to the point where I want to rip my itchy nose right off my face.  The good news is the pills really helped ... the bad news is they have all but knocked me on my butt with drowsiness!  I can't seem to wake up!  ... let's hope those 7 chocolate covered coffee beans kick in soon!

Soooo - since I'm not capable of operating any high performance machinery (good thing ... the medicine recommends I don't *lol*) I thought I'd share my new favorite little Teacher Gift with you.  Thank You Peggy L for the tip on this little cutie (and thanks to the Score-Pal website for the full tutorial!).  Here it is:

hee hee :)  Here's another shot of it without the sentiment (which is from the Morning Cup Stamp set - pg 54):
Aren't they just the cutest?  Here is what I put inside them:
... a Chai Tea, a Via instant coffee, some sweetner, some lemon (WHERE can I buy these???  I got this one from a restaurant!)  and 2 Arrowfoot biscuits.

OK, Wanda - you wanted instructions on how to make them - this one's for you Baby!

Cut your DSP 9" x 4.5" and some scrap for the handle.  Place the DSP RIGHT SIDE DOWN and score (using your Simply Scored Scoring tool ... still hate that hame ...) at 1", 2", 3", 4", 5", 6", 7", and 8".  The reason you put the DSP right side down is so you get the mountain peaks on the outside of the cup.  Turn the DSP a 1/4 turn and score at 1.5"

Cut on each of the 1" score lines up to the intersecting score line so you end up with 9 little flaps. (at this point I'm thinking I should have taken more pictures!)

Attach Sticky Strip to the last flap and tape the DSP closed, into a cup shape.  Now you put snail adhesive on the end of one of the 1" flaps, fold it down and tape it to the opposite flap.  Do this to the other 6 flaps until all are taped together and the bottom of the cup is sealed:

For the handle I used the 1 3/8" circle punch to punch a hole in my scrap piece of paper.  I then used my 2 1/2" circle to punch out around the first hole so I ended up with a piece that looks like a doughnut.  Cut the circle shape in half.  Score each half of the circle at 1/4" at each end - these form little flaps to attach the handle to the cup.  (yep, should have taken more pictures!)  Can you see the little teeny flaps that are taped to the cup?

Attach the handle with sticky strip (snail isn't strong enough - use sticky strip) and decorate as you wish.   I originally put the little treats in a medium cello bag but it wasn't tall enough for my liking so I found some clear "loot bags" from the dollar store that were taller (too tall - I ended up cutting about an inch off the top) and tied it with my Early Espresso 5/8" grosgrain ribbon.

I LOVE these little treats!  They are pretty quick to make and don't use many supplies (it's the treats inside that can add up!)

I have to go work on a few more projects now ... I'll leave you with a shot of some little friends who, in the words of Bugs Bunny, "should have turned left at Albuquerque" ... they were quite away from the pond!!  Have a fun day :)

Tam
