Santa Shaker Card Tutorial

Happy Tuesday!

Everyone survive Halloween?  We did - barely!  Alicia really didn't feel well but National Free Candy Day will NOT be missed … so she soldiered on *lol*  Now for the REALLY hard part - keeping fro eating all their candy while they are at school! … then again Alicia is home today for a Professional Development Day for the teachers (SOMEone was using their head for more than a hat rack when they chose Nov 1 for THAT!!)

Today I'm sharing a picture tutorial on how I made my Santa Shaker Card.  Enjoy!
First start by punching out your Detailed Santa die … (use a standard 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" sheet)
Next lay your coloured card stock (also 5 1/2" x 4 1/4") behind your punched out sheet and stamp the sentiment in Versamark ...
(Why?  You want to stamp the sentiment through the cut opening so you can centre it just so!)  Heat emboss using Winter White Embossing Powder …

NOW you turn your cut piece over and attach a 4 1/4" x 4 1/2" window sheet to the back

Once attached I wiped the back of the window sheet and the Real Red layer with a new dryer sheet in an attempt to remove some of the static.  It worked - I don't know if it was coincidence or not but it WAS less staticky (COULD be a word!) than last time I made a shaker card!

Next you attach your foam strips, making SURE there are no gaps.  You don't want your mica flakes or sequins to fall out when the card is shaken!
Put a small pile of mica flakes or sequins on the Real Red layer, peel off the top strip on the foam and attach ...

Next up add some ribbon and a hand cut scroll (from the Greetings from Santa set) ...
… and then you attach the Real Red piece to a standard card base.  Yes the card is thicker than usual but it will still just need standard postage.

Final product ...
Wa-low!  One super cute shaker card :)

Have yourself a stampy day!

Tam
